How We Work
Our Process
Consultation & Design
We discuss your requirements in detail — dimensions, materials, style, and finish. For bespoke pieces, we produce detailed drawings for your approval.
Material Selection
We advise on the best timber species and board materials for your project — solid oak, MDF, plywood, or a combination — balancing aesthetics with budget.
Workshop Preparation
Components are cut, machined, and prepared in our workshop where possible, minimising on-site disruption and ensuring precision.
On-Site Installation
Our carpenters install with meticulous care — ensuring everything is square, level, and perfectly fitted regardless of the quirks of your property.
Finishing
Sanding, priming, painting, staining, or oiling is completed to the specified finish. We take pride in achieving a factory-quality result on site.
Final Check & Handover
We conduct a thorough final inspection, make any adjustments, and leave the site clean and tidy. Your bespoke carpentry is ready to enjoy.

Case Studies

Bespoke Fitted Kitchen Joinery, Chichester
A client required a fully bespoke shaker-style kitchen with integrated appliances, handmade in-frame doors, and a large central island. Cut Above produced all carcasses and door frames in-house, finished in a period-appropriate sage green with solid oak worktops and classic brass hardware.
A showpiece kitchen that became the centrepiece of the client's home renovation.

Oak Staircase & Landing, Worthing
During a whole-house renovation, the client wanted a statement solid oak staircase with open risers and a feature balustrade to replace the original closed-string staircase. Cut Above fabricated and installed the complete staircase, including newel posts, handrail, and glass infill panels.
A stunning architectural centrepiece that significantly elevated the feel of the whole property.
