Design & Planning Permission
We work with architects and local planning authorities to submit drawings and secure planning permission where required. We handle all correspondence.
Groundworks & Foundations
Our team excavates and lays reinforced concrete foundations to building regulations. All structural steelwork is installed at this stage.
Structure & Weathertight Shell
Blockwork or timber frame walls are raised, roof structure is built, and the extension is made fully weathertight with felting, tiling, and window installation.
First Fix Trades
Electrical wiring, plumbing runs, and underfloor heating (if applicable) are installed before insulation and plasterboard are fitted.
Plastering, Finishing & Handover
Second fix carpentry, tiling, flooring, painting, and final snagging complete the project. We hand over a clean, finished space ready to enjoy.

Case Studies
Single-Storey Kitchen Extension, Worthing
A family wanted to open up their ground floor, combining kitchen and dining into a large open-plan space. Cut Above demolished the rear wall, installed RSJ steelwork, built a 5m × 4m single-storey extension with a flat lantern roof and full-width bi-fold doors. The project was completed in 10 weeks.
Added approx. 20m² of living space and significantly increased the property value.
Rear Extension with Skylights, Sussex
A couple required a bright, modern rear extension to replace a dark, cramped kitchen. Cut Above designed and built a flat-roof extension with three large skylights, creating a light-filled space that transformed the house. All plumbing, electrics, and underfloor heating were managed in-house.
