How We Work
Our Process
Free Survey & Scope
We survey the property, identify any structural or damp issues, and agree the full scope of works. A detailed, itemised quote is provided.
Strip Out & Preparation
Existing finishes, fittings, and any redundant structure are carefully removed. Asbestos surveys are commissioned where required.
Structural Works
Any structural alterations — removing walls, installing beams, underpinning — are completed and signed off by the structural engineer and building control.
First Fix Trades
Rewiring, new plumbing, insulation, and plasterboard are installed. This is also when underfloor heating is laid if specified.
Plastering & Second Fix
Skimming, second fix electrics and plumbing, joinery, doors, skirting, and architrave bring the spaces back to life.
Decoration & Completion
Painting, flooring, tiling, kitchen and bathroom fitting, and final snagging complete the renovation to the highest standard.

Case Studies

Full Victorian Terrace Renovation, Brighton
A Victorian mid-terrace purchased as a renovation project required a complete overhaul — new roof, full rewire, replumbing, insulation, structural wall removal with RSJ installation, new kitchen, two bathrooms, and full decoration. Cut Above project-managed every trade from start to finish.
Transformed a dilapidated property into a stunning family home in 16 weeks.

Period Cottage Restoration, West Sussex
A listed-building cottage required sympathetic restoration — lime plastering, repair of original timber beams, new roof with reclaimed clay tiles, period joinery, and careful damp remediation. Cut Above worked sensitively with heritage materials throughout.
Fully restored the cottage's character while bringing it to modern living standards.
